Light in the Strangest of Places

Some shots just happen, lol. I spend a lot of time hanging out at my parcel just playing with decor and stuff in my inventory, and lately I've been thoroughly enjoying my beach setting! This is a completely weird shot, and probably doesn't even make sense without looking at it for a moment, but I'm just having fun hehe

I like how the water distorts the top half of the body. It's a fun photo, lol. I picked up the very cute swimsuit from the Seashell hunt happening in stores on the Flawless sim right now. There's quite a few neato dollarbies to pick up from that one. Check it out!

I was asked about an outfit I was wearing in a video, so I decided to take a snap and blog it, lol. This is the outfit I wore on my rez day back in April and never got around to getting a good photo of it. I've been doing most my recent edits on the laptop, so the image quality probably isn't that great, but taking photos on my desktop is getting ridiculous. WAY past time to get a new one, lol

For this photo I tried layering snaps with different windlights, which was interesting because the pose was animated, lol, so I got some practice with blending them. Anyway, fashion is part of the point so let me get to that hehe....

Close To Me

I spent more hours than I'd like to admit standing around at Apple May Designs hoping the new group lucky boards would hit M, lol. I was after the silver version of the bra and bottoms in particular, so it took some time for that board to favor me. I really love how my new Maxi Gossamer jewelry fits nicely with the Apple May bikini. I love this! It was totally worth the wait! ♥

I figured this shot was perfect after the long, loong time I spent waiting for the outfit. I earned it, lol! The shadows I captured in the raw shot really made this one fun and easy to "make pretty." I needed to make a nice wide HD shot for this upload since the last post on Flickr is a cover shot and will force this one big for a while. Well, I didn't NEED to, but yeah, if it's gonna get blown up, it might as well be eye candy! hehe

Decro(c)rate for July is live and hot, hot, hot! The theme this month is Tropical Heat, and the designers delivered! All the items in this haul are perfect for summer and beach settings. I had trouble deciding what to use for my thumbnail, so I tried to throw everything in there, lol.

Despite being kinda random, this pic came together nicely. I feel like a lot of these things deserve more closeups, so maybe I'll keep this set up and revisit it later from other angles. Looking Back

I'm slowly digging into the several subscription boxes I wasn't able to enjoy on release days while I was sick. This photo just sort of happened. I feel like it captures something-- a memory, a feeling-- something. Oh, also, my viewer crashed after one shot, and I didn't feel like setting it all up again, lol!

I'm late on the Catwa eyes with tears wagon and making up for it with the past couple shots, hehe. They sure are fun to play with. This shot is quite similar to the one I did for FLF a while back with the Miel bikini and Consignment cuddle chair, but that's OK. If it looks good, it looks good, lol.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July! It's been a super long weekend, and I soaked up being able to do nothing for a couple days. Doing nothing means playing in Photoshop and learning new things, lol. Today I tried my hand at texturing a full perm outfit. I did horribly, but it was yet another learning session.

I'm not sure how to get the textures on the clothing to be more crisp, but it's red, white, and blue, so it works, lol! What started all this was not finding something on MP that was satisfying what I wanted to do for my festive ensemble. I still didn't nail it, but sometimes ya just gotta go with it.

I stayed up late again making another pose and photo lol...I could have worse habits! I made a "walking" pose tonight. This was taken on a green screen, and I made the background from "scratch." I used various free brushes I downloaded and just played around trying to make it look cool. I feel like this somewhat makes up for the sloppy edit I did this morning...or yesterday...or whenever lol

Yes, it's the same outfit (mostly) as the last post, but I can't help it. It's cute! lol
The changes I made were to the hair and shoes/stockings, so it has quite a different feel to it than the first edit. Plus, the pale skin makes for a dramatic change.

Another New Pose

I stayed up too late playing in Blender last night and ended up making another cute pose. It's simple again, but I did do more with the hands than the last one. I like it for what it is. If I get good enough at doing these, I will throw them up on MP. Can't hurt to see if it helps support some of my shopping addiction, lol! 

This is a super sloppy edit, but the pose is what I'm featuring. RL is encroaching, so I will try to do it justice later on. These are more fun things from this round of Uber-- Reign, Tram, and Canimal. I love the messy bun on the Tram hair-- too cute!

Learning to Pose!

I've learned to make a pose in Blender! I've been wanting to figure this out for a long time, especially since Bento bones are in the mix now. I wanted an 'action' pose for the outfit I put together, so I figured this would be a good time to jump into some tutorials and learn something new. I didn't make it too spectacular or complicated, but it does what I want it to, lol.

I saw this bodysuit by Canimal at Uber and couldn't resist making a skating outfit with it, lol. I love the shiny blue with the pink hair. It's making my eyes happy. I'm starting to get the hang of color, lol. It's been a while since I've been in black for every photo or outfit. It is what it is lol...maybe it's seasonal :D

Up All Night

So I haven't slept, hence two blog posts in a row, lol. I have not stayed up all night in a very long time! It's 10 am, and I'll probably drop soon. But I figured I'd blog the photo I worked on tonight along with the one I edited yesterday (somewhere around there, lol). I'm not thrilled with how this photo turned out, but each one is a learning experience.

I love, love, love this dress from United Colors! The photo really doesn't do it justice, lol. It's great for a casual summer/beachy look and goes perfectly with the new Truth hair release that's at Uber right now. I worked and worked at getting this photo done tonight-- but only because I was struggling to get decent photo quality on my laptop, so I decided to take the photo on the desktop and edit it on the laptop, which led me down a path of trying to get the two computers to see each other and be able to transfer files, lol! Seems simple, but nothing in my life ever is. Eeep  I am babbling in my blog post! But nobody reads this, right? lol...... I need sleep... or coffee.... hmmm

Guess I'm Fine

A bit of an odd one today, but I like it. My real life is suddenly weighing me down a bunch, and I've got no choice but to keep on truckin'. Such is life, huh!? So some of that might seep through into my art/photos. I set out some of the new anc colorful rain on my new parcel, and I really dig it. It looks decent in photos, too. At least, I think so.

Luckily, I got around to Truth before the hair sale is over this coming Friday (May 12). I mostly bought from the front room , but I may go back later today for some older styles I've had my eye on.

I really like this dress from Clef de Peau I got from FLF. It's so not black, lol. It is very festive, though. The pattern name of the dress is probably influencing me (Liberty), but I think this would be a great Independence Day outfit. :D

Black Magic Woman

I played around with the Black Dragon Viewer today to see how photos came out with it. I do like the quality I can achieve, but I'm a bit confused by some of the settings. I will learn! I also noticed I don't seem to have as many issues with lag while the graphics are high, but that might be due to me being unfamiliar with the viewer.

I was given some gifts by one of my YouTube subscribers the other day, so I decided to blog about it, lol. I still can't believe anyone actually watches my videos, much less hit the subscribe button! Headspiration!

I finally got a Bento mesh head! I was waiting for Catwa to release Lona at the Skin Fair this weekend so I could demo all four new heads. I really thought I would pick Lona, but I decided on Catya in the end. I'm so glad I can now put more expression into my photos! It's been a while since I've been inspired to work on one, so hopefully this breaks the dry spell, lol.

I'm still working on the shape, but she looks good so far. I have been breaking out all my old skins and trying them on. I've even opted to skip Luxe Box this month and pick up the Powder Pack instead. I'm hoping to get some fresh, new things to use on my fresh, new head, lol.

Inspired Retake

I decided to try and get a retake of the close-up portion of yesterday's shot. I got inspired to try it when I saw how the thumbnail got cropped when I shared it on Facebook, lol. So I made a photo for my profile pic. I had a little trouble getting the size right from a shot that wasn't taken in the right ratio, but I did ok. I'm learning new things from every project I work on, so that's what counts. ☺

Tall Glass of Practice

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this one. I'm not 100% happy with it, and I'm just practicing. It's very tall. I ended up cutting out some of the sides because the shadow looked odd, and I didn't want to put my computer through setting it up again. I am posting it mainly to honor the designers. Forgive my lack of skill yet. ♥

My Solo - FLF 2-17-17

It feels like it's been a long time since I made a photo, and it has. RL keeps me busy, and I just haven't had much inspiration lately. Hopefully that will change soon, because I do enjoy making them when I can. I'm never 100% happy with my shots, but that's what keeps the next one challenging.

The clavichord from Fancy Decor is just awesome. I'm definitely going to find a permanent place in my house for it. The boots from Coco are some of the only shoes I had that would reach the floor in a realistic way, and they are platforms, so double win, lol.

This Is Why I'm Single

I was so sad not to film my Fifty Linden Fridays video yesterday. It's become such a fun part of my week. I can still make a photo, though! While trying to come up with a pose for my shot today, it dawned on me that I just HAD to try and pull this one off. I'm not 100% satisfied with it, but I think it speaks what I was trying to say, lol!

I usually tend toward the weird and semi-unsexy, so I had to epitomize it since Valentine's Day is coming up. My flat platform addiction is raging lately, so I just had to get these boots from Energie to go with the Lazybones dress I got from the FLF sale. Cute/weird combo, but it's definitely me. And please forgive me for overwearing my beloved Exile hair, lol. ♥

Tutorial Binging

I spent the day buried in Photoshop and tutorials on YouTube, lol. I spent hours learning how to add the shadows and highlights and working on a picture I thought would be so cool for a profile pic. Well, I learned the profile picture isn't a square!

 So I spent a longer time reworking a new photo using a different method for the shadows and ended up over-editing it. I am learning! I won't be putting these on Flickr, lol. They're just practice edits.

I absolutely love this hair from Exile. It's arguably my favorite hair. I figured I'd try to do it more justice than the on-the-fly snap I did of it months ago that I've been using as my profile picture, lol.

Late video is late today! There were several good things on today's rounds, but I didn't buy much to show for it, lol. This shot was fun to do. It was tedious to position all the bones, but I think it worked all right.

I rather like doing a shot without my avatar in it, lol. These skeletons from Cureless are neat. I will probably leave my patio like this for a bit. I like it, lol. While I was setting up this shot, the line from The Wedding Singer song kept popping up in my head-- "I wanna grow old with you." :D

I love when shoes inspire a whole outfit, lol. I'm in love with the platform ballet slippers from REIGN. I love any flat platform, really. But these are just too cute! Had to get my ballerina on, lol.

 

After I took the shot and began editing, I realized I'd like to have had the toe pointing a bit more, but I'll have mercy and myself and my computer and let it be, lol. The cute hair is a new group gift from (red) Mint, and the group is free to join.

Fingers Crossed

One of the reasons I started taking photos of my avatar was to capture a particular outfit before I changed it. Yes, I do save outfits, and snapshots can be saved in-world. But I'm cheap and creative, lol. Today is one of those days when I'm taking a photo simply because I love the outfit -- no scenery, no props-- just the look.

 

I love playing with fantasy skins, especially the darker Drow tones. I knew this dress from Dead Dollz would look awesome over dark skin, so I had to do it! This skin is from a Gacha that was at AlterEgo, which closed at the first of the year. :'(

This week's FLF was pretty good. The photo I took doesn't feature everything I got. I usually try to, but time got away from me today.

I'm still figuring out how to put images here, lol. The sizing is throwing me off. This whole b/vlogging thing has been a huge learning experience since I began in July. It's also been fun. That's why I keep doing it. :)

I was finally able to go outside of my parcel for a photo! It was super laggy, and I didn't get the perfect shot, but it's still pretty cool to get some variety. Tomorrow is my RL birthday, so I figured I'd set the mood with a photo, lol.

This type of style will probably crop up a lot in my photos (if I keep this blog thing up). I do like to change it up a bit, but I love the darker, Gothic look of things, so it's usually my go-to style. I found this setting at a sim called Furillen from the Blogger Support Sim Locations group on Flickr.

This is my first attempt at including a blog post with a photo. I tried going on location in SL, but my computer couldn't really handle the high graphics on other sims. Maybe someday! So for today, my porch will be featured. :)
