Ashes to Glasses

It's been a minute since I blogged anything-- well, more like months and months lol..
I figured I'd blog the pic I made since it's more than a head shot. I've worn this outfit for nearly two weeks mostly because I LOVE it. It's so me! And also because I'm depressed and lazy lol....but I digress.
My initial thought about this shot was to make it warm or fire-y, or a "from-the-ashes" type of feel. But it turned out to be more vintage photo style. Either way, I like it, for now.

I love how nerdy and cute this outfit is. The fishnet socks from Reign are to die for. And bows in the hair and shoelaces bring it together perfectly. This ensemble wouldn't make nearly as much of a statement without those glasses though! lol

Light in the Strangest of Places

Some shots just happen, lol. I spend a lot of time hanging out at my parcel just playing with decor and stuff in my inventory, and lately I've been thoroughly enjoying my beach setting! This is a completely weird shot, and probably doesn't even make sense without looking at it for a moment, but I'm just having fun hehe

I like how the water distorts the top half of the body. It's a fun photo, lol. I picked up the very cute swimsuit from the Seashell hunt happening in stores on the Flawless sim right now. There's quite a few neato dollarbies to pick up from that one. Check it out!

You ask, I blog! lol

I was asked about an outfit I was wearing in a video, so I decided to take a snap and blog it, lol. This is the outfit I wore on my rez day back in April and never got around to getting a good photo of it. I've been doing most my recent edits on the laptop, so the image quality probably isn't that great, but taking photos on my desktop is getting ridiculous. WAY past time to get a new one, lol

For this photo I tried layering snaps with different windlights, which was interesting because the pose was animated, lol, so I got some practice with blending them. Anyway, fashion is part of the point so let me get to that hehe....

Close To Me

I spent more hours than I'd like to admit standing around at Apple May Designs hoping the new group lucky boards would hit M, lol. I was after the silver version of the bra and bottoms in particular, so it took some time for that board to favor me. I really love how my new Maxi Gossamer jewelry fits nicely with the Apple May bikini. I love this! It was totally worth the wait! ♥

I figured this shot was perfect after the long, loong time I spent waiting for the outfit. I earned it, lol! The shadows I captured in the raw shot really made this one fun and easy to "make pretty." I needed to make a nice wide HD shot for this upload since the last post on Flickr is a cover shot and will force this one big for a while. Well, I didn't NEED to, but yeah, if it's gonna get blown up, it might as well be eye candy! hehe

Decro(c)rate for July is live and hot, hot, hot! The theme this month is Tropical Heat, and the designers delivered! All the items in this haul are perfect for summer and beach settings. I had trouble deciding what to use for my thumbnail, so I tried to throw everything in there, lol.

Despite being kinda random, this pic came together nicely. I feel like a lot of these things deserve more closeups, so maybe I'll keep this set up and revisit it later from other angles. I did end up clearing out my old house for the dock house from Schultz Bros. It looks awesome on my little beach!

Looking Back

I'm slowly digging into the several subscription boxes I wasn't able to enjoy on release days while I was sick. This photo just sort of happened. I feel like it captures something-- a memory, a feeling-- something. Oh, also, my viewer crashed after one shot, and I didn't feel like setting it all up again, lol!

I'm late on the Catwa eyes with tears wagon and making up for it with the past couple shots, hehe. They sure are fun to play with. This shot is quite similar to the one I did for FLF a while back with the Miel bikini and Consignment cuddle chair, but that's OK. If it looks good, it looks good, lol.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July! It's been a super long weekend, and I soaked up being able to do nothing for a couple days. Doing nothing means playing in Photoshop and learning new things, lol. Today I tried my hand at texturing a full perm outfit. I did horribly, but it was yet another learning session.

I'm not sure how to get the textures on the clothing to be more crisp, but it's red, white, and blue, so it works, lol! What started all this was not finding something on MP that was satisfying what I wanted to do for my festive ensemble. I still didn't nail it, but sometimes ya just gotta go with it.
And yes, I'm STILL wearing the Doe hair. Sorry not sorry lol

I stayed up late again making another pose and photo lol...I could have worse habits! I made a "walking" pose tonight. This was taken on a green screen, and I made the background from "scratch." I used various free brushes I downloaded and just played around trying to make it look cool. I feel like this somewhat makes up for the sloppy edit I did this morning...or yesterday...or whenever lol

Yes, it's the same outfit (mostly) as the last post, but I can't help it. It's cute! lol
The changes I made were to the hair and shoes/stockings, so it has quite a different feel to it than the first edit. Plus, the pale skin makes for a dramatic change.

Another New Pose

I stayed up too late playing in Blender last night and ended up making another cute pose. It's simple again, but I did do more with the hands than the last one. I like it for what it is. If I get good enough at doing these, I will throw them up on MP. Can't hurt to see if it helps support some of my shopping addiction, lol! 

This is a super sloppy edit, but the pose is what I'm featuring. RL is encroaching, so I will try to do it justice later on. These are more fun things from this round of Uber-- Reign, Tram, and Canimal. I love the messy bun on the Tram hair-- too cute!

Learning to Pose!

I've learned to make a pose in Blender! I've been wanting to figure this out for a long time, especially since Bento bones are in the mix now. I wanted an 'action' pose for the outfit I put together, so I figured this would be a good time to jump into some tutorials and learn something new. I didn't make it too spectacular or complicated, but it does what I want it to, lol.

I saw this bodysuit by Canimal at Uber and couldn't resist making a skating outfit with it, lol. I love the shiny blue with the pink hair. It's making my eyes happy. I'm starting to get the hang of color, lol. It's been a while since I've been in black for every photo or outfit. It is what it is lol...maybe it's seasonal :D

Up All Night

So I haven't slept, hence two blog posts in a row, lol. I have not stayed up all night in a very long time! It's 10 am, and I'll probably drop soon. But I figured I'd blog the photo I worked on tonight along with the one I edited yesterday (somewhere around there, lol). I'm not thrilled with how this photo turned out, but each one is a learning experience.

I love, love, love this dress from United Colors! The photo really doesn't do it justice, lol. It's great for a casual summer/beachy look and goes perfectly with the new Truth hair release that's at Uber right now. I worked and worked at getting this photo done tonight-- but only because I was struggling to get decent photo quality on my laptop, so I decided to take the photo on the desktop and edit it on the laptop, which led me down a path of trying to get the two computers to see each other and be able to transfer files, lol! Seems simple, but nothing in my life ever is. Eeep  I am babbling in my blog post! But nobody reads this, right? lol...... I need sleep... or coffee.... hmmm

I've been working on getting both the PC and laptop workable for editing photos and videos from either place since I've been working from bed so much lately. Having to spend to much time "resting" has me quite bored and feeling creative.

I made my rounds at the SL14B Shop Til You Drop event to pick up the gifts (yes, I'm a cheap date, lol). I'm impressed with many of them and even MORE impressed that I actually unpacked them all. That's saying a lot when I still have gifts from SL's 11th birthday sitting in my Objects folder, still packed, lol! I found this cute freebie Bento pose from Touchic and figured I'd made a fun pic with it. I enjoy playing with the different facial animations and gestures and trying to catch them at a good spot lol..I guess it's similar to my making-the-dance-match-the-beat addiction lol

I really love the colors in this one even though the dress somewhat blends into the background. It just makes my eyes happy lol. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to take of the Scout hair from Truth or those Tokyo eyes from Izzie's. They're so awesome!

Guess I'm Fine

A bit of an odd one today, but I like it. My real life is suddenly weighing me down a bunch, and I've got no choice but to keep on truckin'. Such is life, huh!? So some of that might seep through into my art/photos. I set out some of the new anc colorful rain on my new parcel, and I really dig it. It looks decent in photos, too. At least, I think so.

Luckily, I got around to Truth before the hair sale is over this coming Friday (May 12). I mostly bought from the front room , but I may go back later today for some older styles I've had my eye on.
I've also been wearing the Blueberry Babe set since I bought it, lol! It's way cute and perfect for the season.

I am not sure where I was going with this today, lol. I'm sorta looking for a way to feature a whole outfit and also show close-up details in an appealing way. Today's method taught me how useful clipping masks are when I didn't use a green screen, lol
 

I really like this dress from Clef de Peau I got from FLF. It's so not black, lol. It is very festive, though. The pattern name of the dress is probably influencing me (Liberty), but I think this would be a great Independence Day outfit. :D

Black Magic Woman

I played around with the Black Dragon Viewer today to see how photos came out with it. I do like the quality I can achieve, but I'm a bit confused by some of the settings. I will learn! I also noticed I don't seem to have as many issues with lag while the graphics are high, but that might be due to me being unfamiliar with the viewer.

 

I know everyone and their alt is blogging this gorgeous Blueberry dress the past couple days, and I couldn't help myself either, lol. I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. Sometimes I tend to overdo it on the fog/glow, but I like it a lot in this photo.
